It is clinically proven to remove unwanted hair and it is available for all areas of the body, and all skin types. To achieve smooth, hair-free legs, underarms, bikini lines and to remove unwanted facial hair, laser hair removal can be an ideal way to avoid daily or weekly waxing, shaving or using depilatory creams.
Before treatment, you will need to be cleanly shaven in the area. Highly controlled pulses of light are applied on the treated area and are selectively absorbed by the hair follicles beneath the skin surface. The absorbed light heats the hair follicles, which damages the re-growth potential of the follicle. As the pulses of light are applied to your skin, you may feel a slight stinging or warm sensation. The hair in the treated area sheds over the next week or two.
Most people need a course of 6 treatments, at 4 – 6 weekly intervals. Maintenance treatments may be needed after the course is finished, but this varies from person to person and will be at a reduced fee.
Risks may include redness, swelling, scarring, or a change of pigmentation. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.
Immediately after treatment, you may experience some slight redness or mild swelling of the treated area. This is a positive clinical result which indicates that the follicles have responded to the treatment. You should be able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment. It is just important to remember that as your skin may be sensitive, so limited exposure of the area to the sun and extreme heat for 48 hours is recommended.
Nearly any part of the body can be treated including the face, neck, legs, bikini line, underarms, arms, back and stomach. It is also very effective for all skin types as well as different hair types for both men and women except blonde or grey hair.
Most clients see results about 2 weeks after their first treatment and the results will improve over the course. During your treatment, your therapist will explain the process of how the hair removal works and what to expect.
